- HELLY IN USA -

On a visit at the publisher Pasiano Publications in California - USA.

In the ending of our first meeting with the purchasing agents of the Custom Chrome headquarters in Morgan Hill (USA) we asked ourselves (Markus, one of my brothers and me) the question: "How far is it really from here to L.A." Short answer of the CCI staff: "Not so far." Then the next day we had time, it was clear ... "let's go to Easyrider publishing". "Why not, isn't far." A short phone call with Isidro (advertisement section of the Pasiano Publications) and the appointment for the day was coming.

The following morning, we just drive off toward Los Angeles. Defeated seven hours later we were "already" there. Yeah, not so far - I can still hear. So much for the American conception of distances. Time moves at a different pace here. ;-)

We had a really warm welcome at Pasiano Publications. Although many years ago, we stand above our ads in several U.S. magazines in their business relationship, we were very clear: It's not every day when the Helly Brother's from Germany stay here.

After some small and business talk (about two hours), we've something to see there. A tour of the editors (Easyriders, Biker, V-Twin, In The Wind), the graphics and the advertising department. What we see was great. Small is different! But we're talking about a publishier with bikers cult status, that reported since 1971 about the scene in the United States.

Some quick pics in memory and we've go back to Morgan Hill... a few hours driving are in front of us.

The next day we met at the Custom Chrome central casually the "Ness Family" (www.arlenness.com): Arlen, Cory and Zach Ness. After work there was yat a short time for lunch. It was like a family atmosphere here at the Custom Chrome headquarters in Morgan Hill (California). But that is another issue.

Result: For us it was a really great business trip to California with lasting impressions!
